Nursing Simulation Laboratory Coordinator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin For Sale
Concordia University seeks applicants for the full-time Nursing Simulation Laboratory Coordinator Clinical Instructor position in the School of Nursing in Mequon, WI.
This Clinical Instructor Faculty role is responsible for managing the simulation laboratory and overseeing simulation activities. The successful candidate is a registered professional nurse and will report to the Traditional Undergraduate Nursing program chairperson or designee.
Responsibilities
Maintains adequate supplies for student simulation experiences
Assists in maintaining simulators and other equipment per manufacturer's guidelines and established lab guidelines
Maintains competency in using audio/visual equipment and simulation software
Supports the Simulation Lab's scholarly, professional, and academic initiatives by working collaboratively with faculty to integrate simulation activities into the traditional undergraduate curriculum
Assists faculty with planning and developing simulation activities
Assists faculty in maintaining reference materials for student use
Pursues opportunities for interprofessional learning and collaborative partnerships with other Schools within the University and with community partners
Presents matters of concern to the Chairperson of the Traditional Undergraduate Nursing Program or designee
Identifies capital equipment needs for the simulation laboratory and communicates this to the Dean
Orients students to clinical simulation laboratory setting
Coordinates the simulation laboratory schedule for courses and/or labs
Reviews content presented in theory courses for fit with simulation activities
Maintains lesson plans for each simulation experience and the nature and staffing needed for each activity
Coordinates student assignments in the clinical simulation laboratory
Provides feedback to students on clinical simulation performance
Maintains ongoing records of student performance
Communicates student concerns or questions to course coordinators or clinical faculty as appropriate
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and skill of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Access and Word
Excellent organizational abilities, written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice within the area of teaching responsibility
Maintains current knowledge of advances in the use of simulation
Position Requirements
Current licensure and registration to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin
Master of Science degree in Nursing
Demonstrated evidence of teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or higher degree programs
Simulation Experience preferred
Simulation Certification desired or expected once eligible
Compensation and BenefitsThis is a full-time, exempt position. Starting range is dependent upon on individual qualifications and experience.
