Our client is looking or a Director of Tax responsible for the management of the tax compliance for the Company, including review of tax work papers used to complete all state, federal, and international tax returns, filing of all required state, federal, and international extensions and any required estimated payments, special project entity structuring, tax research, and so forth. Volt is an equal opportunity employer. Job Requirements 1. Reviews tax work papers used to complete all state, federal, and international tax returns, and works with outside tax return preparers. 2. Reviews all required state, federal, and international extensions and any required estimated payments. 3. Researches tax issues and entity structuring to support acquisition of portfolios and/or new entities to assure minimum tax liability. 4. Reviews all deal documents to ensure REIT compliance and minimization of tax impact. 5. Calculates the tax provision in accordance with GAAP for the audited financial statements and prepares related footnote disclosures. 6. Researches and responds to federal, state, local and foreign tax notices. 7. Participates in advocating the Company's position in tax examinations. 8. Initiates and implements tax planning strategies. 9. Monitors REIT industry issues, and analyzes legislative proposals impacting the REIT industry. 10. Documents key departmental control processes used to monitor and maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. 11. Reviews annual return of capital calculation for distribution to shareholders. 12. Reviews partner estimates and distribution of K-1's. 13. Completes all composite and non-resident withholding filing requirements. 14. Reviews UPREIT tax basis information and xxxx basis information maintained by Tax Accountants. 15. Reviews 704(c) allocations prepared by Ernst & Young. 16. Provides guidance to investment group related to dispositions and xxxx exchanges. 17. Oversees all REIT compliance to ensure the Company meets all tests to maintain REIT status. 18. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences, and the like. 19.
